Well I am slowly getting back to normality from the whirlwind of the past few weeks and I am so glad to be back in London for the Olympics! Its so exciting! Did you see the Opening Ceremony? It was so brilliant.

I loved this headlines in the papers last week! I definitely agree with this one!

Elegant White Baby Shower

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a nice weekend - It's Olympics fever in London - I hope you are all enjoying it, its such a great atmosphere!

I'm resuming normal service on A Chi Chi Affair with this lovely baby shower found on SMP at Home. Two of my good friends and my sister are pregnant at the moment (so exciting) so I'm hoping I'll have a baby shower or two to organise at some point soon!

I love this shower designed by Mimmoandco  and its soft white fairytale theme because its gender neutral and is so elegant. It has some great details to steal such as the gyp flowers which lend a softness to the table. I love the cookies and mini milk bottles, they are such an easy idea and you can find similar milk bottles in the UK here. Those teddy cake toppers are also beautiful! I also love the use of books as risers on the table. They really fit the theme and also add some height so the table doesn't look too flat. Those chocolate cakes baked in the ramekins are also a cute idea. That is definitely one idea to steal!

Friday Home: Mackerel and New Potato Salad.

Even  though we only got back from honeymoon on Monday I've already started cooking. I've actually missed it as the few months before the wedding were so manic that I hardly cooked at all and in the last few weeks we were mostly living on take out meals picked up on the way home from work!

I love making salads in the summer and it has been SO hot this week that I didn't want to eat anything heavy.  I've made a lovely Chicken Caesar and then this warm smoked mackerel and new potato salad that I'm sharing the recipe for.  

The great thing about this salad is that its easy to put together, very tasty and healthy too and you can buy the smoked mackerel vaccum packed from the supermarket, no fish preparation necessary! You can click over to BBC Good Food for the recipe here.

I am back and married!

Well lovely readers after the most amazing wedding and honeymoon I am finally back!!  We had the most amazing day filled with so much love, it was just beyond my wildest dreams and the best day of our lives. :-)

I will be sharing the details with you over the coming weeks and telling you why I made the decisions I did and showing you how everything worked out. There will be lots of photos!  In the meantime - here is a sneak peak...

DIY envelope liners!

Hi everyone.

Happy Thursday! I have a great DIY for you. I used envelope liners in my wedding stationery and I think they really finish off the look and bring everything together. Did you know you can easily make these yourself if you follow this tutorial from The Sweetest Occasion?

The final Wedding Wednesday!

Well here we are - The final Wedding Wednesday before I get married on Saturday!! This week so far has been a mixture of emotions!  We had a manic weekend running around collecting the suits, visiting people to finalise details, buying last minute bits and staying up until god knows what time wrapping gifts and making the order of the services!

But yesterday today I started to feel better, the final bits are coming together and yesterday I managed to relax while having a cut and colour with my hairdresser.  Today is a day of beauty treatments, eyelash tint, eyebrow shape, eyelash extensions and exfoliating wrap so I'm very much looking forward to that and then Thursday I am picking up my dress!  Cant wait for that either! :-)

Its the little things that seem to get me this week though; writing cards to my nearest and dearest and just thinking about the sheer immense nature of the day. Getting to the end of the aisle to find H2B waiting, H2b's speech, Our first dance as Husband and Wife! Its so exciting but nerve wracking too! 

I'm signing off by showing you one of the last minute details coming together! My good friend gave me a sneaky peak of the wedding cake she is making for us. Doesn't it look amazing so far? It has one tier left to go and some flowers to go on it too.

Tuesday Tales from the Week!

Well readers we are now on the wedding countdown - the wedding is on the weekend and EEEEEEEEK can only be described as how I am feeling!  More news tomorrow from Wedding Wednesday! 

This week has actually been lovely. Highlights include skinny mango mojitos with a good friend in a very funky bar with some lovely decor. Look at those tea cups and you can just see the vintage plates too.

Luckily I didn't feel the need to diet hugely before the wedding as this strawberry pavlova clearly demonstrates!!!  It was delicious though!

This week H2B has mostly been tying ribbons around boxes. It took ages!! But I hope you agree they look really pretty!

Magic Faraway Tree Party!

I'm going to take you back to your childhood with this charming party! The Magic Faraway tree was one of my favourite books as a child so when I found this gorgeous Children's party I couldn't resist posting! I found it over on HWTM by Louisa from The Little Big Party and it is just so sweet!

My favourite details are the storybook bunting which is such a lovely idea (and would be easy to make too!) the fabric hanging balls and that amazing cake on the dessert table!
