Friday Home: Strawberry Blueberry Mini Cheesecake Trifle !

One of the things I am most looking forward to after the wedding is entertaining again and having people round for dinner. Its been so busy that we haven't had people over for ages and I miss cooking and trying out new recipes!  I'm going to ear mark this dessert recipe for my first dinner party back! The trifle is a easy to make in advance and looks so pretty with the strawberries and the blueberries.   It would also be fabulous if you are celebrating 4th July this week!

Click over to the lovely Glorious Treats here for the recipe. Its such a lovely blog with great recipes so make sure you have a look around too!

DIY Fringe Balloons

I loved this DIY for fringed balloons that I found on the fabulous Glitter Guide!!  Its really quite easy to do and looks so effective. They would be particularly lovely for a baby or bridal shower!  You could even use patterned fabric or paper for an interesting effect!

Wedding Wednesday Last minute details!

This is the penultimate Wedding Wednesday. Can you believe we are nearly there? It's been a long but lovely journey and I must say I'll miss writing about all my plans on a Wednesday!

I'm writing this post on the train home from a night out with my lovely friend Gemma who is singing at the wedding. She was having a rehearsal with the organist and I must say she was brilliant! It was very emotional hearing her beautiful voice fill the church and thinking that the next time I will be there will be the rehearsal the night before the wedding! It gave me goose bumps!

I thought I would post this photo of Gemma and I taken on our holiday in Mallorca a few years ago! Such lovely memories.

So we are nearly there and h2b and I have been doing lots of last minute making of things! The stationery has arrived from Canvas Boutique and I'm really thrilled - it all looks so stylish and I can see everything coming together nicely. I do still feel like I have quite a long list but am hoping this should diminish in the last week!

I have finally settled on my wedding perfume!! Sensuous nude by Estee Lauder. Its described as sultry Woods and Musks, delicate Muguet, Sicilian Bergamot and Baie Rose. Its actually quite subtle but I really like it and I think the fragrance suits how I want to feel on the day. :-)

I think that's all for now!!

Tuesday Tales from the Week!

Hi everyone!

Phew! What a busy week! I'm actually looking forward to my life calming down a little post wedding and of course relaxing on our honeymoon!!

I took a trip to the flagship Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road for cards, craft supplies and gift boxes. I snapped this cool industrial scene. Love those cushions!

Had our last meeting with the wedding venue and went over all the final details with our planner!

Then we went for dinner at Pizza East and as well as pizza, managed to polish off these delicious cinnamon doughnuts with chocolate sauce.  So indulgent!

Don't forget to check back next week for my last Tuesday Tales before I'm a married lady!

California Glam Barn Wedding!

Happy Monday everyone!!

Less than two weeks to go until my wedding (!) so I thought I would post a gorgeous wedding celebration here as a little homage to the run up to my big day. I have said this before here but I think there are many types of weddings that I could have had and this glamorous barn wedding couldn't be more different to the city chic wedding I am actually having but I think I would love it equally!  Its so beautiful!!

Most of all I love the colour palate and all the flowers. The peaches and pinks and soft whites look so stylish against the warm wooden tones of the barn and the jam jar chandelier with the soft light shining through just lights up the space. The bride and groom look so gorgeous as well!

DIY Waxed Paper Dot Garland!

Love Love Love this DIY wax Paper Garland by Jessica of Bramble Workshop that I found on Green Wedding Shoes which is such a creative wedding blog!   This garland is so fun! You could use it as a beautiful backdrop to a dessert table or dinner party or even for a ceremony back drop at a wedding.  The colours used are so vibrant and fun but this would look equally fab in all white, black and white, rainbow or any combination of colours!!

Wedding Wednesday: On the Countdown!

After this one I only have two  more Wedding Wednesdays until the big day which is just insane! I promise I'll keep writing up until the day to keep you up to date with the final arrangements though...

After a long long hunt for my jewellery I finally decided on something super simple so have ordered this pearl necklace and drop earrings from Dogeared. I like their ethical principles too!  I do have a sparkly bracelet from J Crew though to keep it glam and I'll be changing into my Kate Spade Necklace for the evening!

Rustic Couples Bridal Shower

I love this Couples Rustic bridal shower that I found on HWTM blog. It is so sweet and really warms my heart. I also love how lots of the ideas are totally achievable and you could definitely replicate them at home.

As well as the rustic colour palate my favourite details are the milk and cookie shooters and the burlap wrapped around those jam jars used as glasses. Super cute!!  I also really like the bunting cake topper made out of fabric - so simple and chic!

For more details and pics then hop on over to HWTM blog!

Friday Home: Bacon and Asparagus Pappardelle

I'm always on the look out for tasty quick recipes to make when I get home from work, and I often use the Jamie Oliver twenty minute meals App on my iPhone. This pasta dish; Bacon and Asparagus Pappardelle is one that I discovered a few weeks ago and we have had it at least three times since. Its quick, easy and yummy!

Here's the recipe! (From Jamie Oliver)

Jamie Oliver

Ingredients

250g dried Pappardelle (although I think it works with any pasta!)
4 rashers of smoked streaky bacon
1 small bunch of asparagus
2 heaped tbsp of crème fraiche (I use half fat)
30g Parmesan (optional)
Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper

Method

Cook your pappardelle in boiling salty water according to instructions. Give it an occasional stir to make sure none of the pasta is sticking together. Meanwhile...

Roughly chop the bacon and add to the hot frying pan with a splash of olive oil. Fry until crispy and golden and then turn the heat off and leave to cool slightly. Meanwhile...

Snap the woody bases off the bottom of the asparagus spears and discard, then thinly slice the tender stems leaving the tips whole.

Add the crème fraiche to the pan of bacon and mix together. Leave for now.

Finely grate the Parmesan and put to one side

About a minute before the pasta is ready, add the sliced asparagus stalks and tips to the pan to quickly cook.

When your pasta and asparagus is done, scoop out a cupful of water for later then drain everything in a colander.

Tip the pasta and asparagus into the frying pan with the bacon and crème fraiche. Throw in half your grated Parmesan and stir everything together.  (If the sauce is a bit thick then add a splash of some of the reserved cooking water to thin it out slightly)

Taste and season with salt and pepper and top with the remaining Parmesan.

Happy Friday!

Wedding Wednesday: Hen Night Part 2 - Markets and Cocktails!

As promised last week here is the second part of my hen night celebrations! They are loads of photos but I couldn't pick out just a few so I thought I would post them all! I hope you like them!

On the Saturday we  started the day at Borough Market which is a food market near London Bridge. If you haven't been you must, as its a haven for foodies! Saturday afternoon we did cocktail making which was just so much fun!!! We made a number of cocktails including Bellini's, Old Fashioneds, Raspberry Mojitos and Amaretto Sours and I even had a few shots of Moonshine! EEK! Nothing like a few cocktails to get the party started!

We finished the evening in a tapas bar - I actually don't have many pictures of this as I was too busy dancing to take photos so I have included some from my good friend (and bridesmaid) Bethan. She is pregnant so managed to get lots of pictures!!
