Perfect Chemistry Themed Bridal Shower!

Its my kitchen tea and hen night coming up very soon and I am really looking forward to it! EEK! The wedding is all I can think of at the moment so it will be nice to spend some time with my best girls relaxing, laughing and having fun. I'm so excited!

Have a look at this gorgeous perfect chemistry bridal shower by Alders Photography and Bunch Studio that I found on Style Me Pretty. The blue colour palate is so pretty and it has some lovely touches like the test tubes with craspedia flowers in to make a pretty centre piece and the blue signature cocktail in the science beakers! How super cute!!

I also love the idea of mixing different bath salts together to make your own favours - this is such a good idea to treat your ladies and how about making your waiters dress up in white coats with geek chic specs? Inspired!!!

Friday Home: Cushions!

Hi all!

We've moved some grey curtains that we bought for our bedroom to the living room as they are just such a better fit there (and replace some very ugly brown ones that were there when we moved in!) So now I'm on the look out for some yellow cushions to brighten up the space! Here are some lovely ones that I am considering all from Etsy!

I like the print on these from Dekowe

Dekowe shop

These are actually mini pillows but I love the dark grey felt fabric and the wording is so cute! This one is from Memake

The print on this pair from SewGracious are really fun. I adore the pattern!

Finally these are so sophisticated and add a great pop of colour too. Find them at Veedubz here.

Wedding Wednesday Decorative Details!

As the wedding day draws ever closer more of my thoughts turn to the decorative detail on the day. As many of you know one of my "colours" is gold and this week I purchased these gold tealight holders and small gold vases. We're really lucky n that the venue doesnt need too much dressing as its beautiful but I'm hoping these items will give it a little bit more sparkle! Both of these items are from the lovely Nordic House which is definitely worth a look for decorative items. I love that we can use them around the house after the wedding.

I also bought some classic white confetti this week which is made out of delphinium petals from
Shropshire Petals. It arrived in the cutest white organza bags. I added some gold glitter to the white for exra sparkle!!

Moustache 1st Birthday Party

I love posting ideas for little boys birthday parties partly because my bestie has a little boy and is looking for ideas for his birthday and partly because there is such an abundance of ideas for little girls but not as many for little boys. This Moustache 1st birthday that I found on Kara's Party Ideas submitted by Sol and Rachel Blog is such a gorgeous example of an easy but effective theme that is executed so perfectly.

I love the colour palate, its so vibrant with the yellow and blue and I love a chevron pattern. There are some gorgeous ideas like the moustache garland and the tissue paper swirling garland behind the dessert table. The chocolate moustache favours are also such a yummy idea, and finally the picture of daddy and Braden wearing matching bow ties is so super cute!!

Friday Home: Lavender Mojito

Okay so anyone that knows me knows that I love cocktails! They are my fave alcoholic drink by a mile and I love trying new combinations when we are having a night out. Now I'm thinking that with my Kitchen tea, Hen night, Wedding and Honeymoon coming up I'm going to be doing a whole lot of celebrating in the next few months, and with celebrating comes cocktails!!

This Lavender Mojito from one of my fave blogs Sugar and Charm looks really gorgeous and is so different. It requires culinary lavender which you can buy here if you are in the UK

Wool Decoration Tutorial!

DIY is huge in weddings at the moment and I know lots of people making the fabulous Paper Poms and using lanterns to hang as part of their wedding decor. They look so great hung all together. However I've found a great alternative on Hostess Blog that looks just as effective and although slightly more time consuming is actually a more budget friendly option.   You could alternate these with the traditional paper poms or lanterns for a textured look...

Use different colours like the picture here or shades of the same colour would also look fabulous especially this seasons pastel shades. :-)

Wedding Wednesday Honeymoon Finds

I just thought I would share with you a couple of finds that I have picked up for our honeymoon so far and then also some that I am debating buying. :-) We're off to Singapore and Bali and staying in some lovely hotels so looking for some beach luxe items than will take me from day to night easily!

I love the stripe on this Zara dress - its a nice light weight silk so will be lovely for a cover up for shopping in the beach boutiques. I'll twin this with my Chanel classic brown sunglasses.

The picture doesn't do this Kaftan from Accessorize justice as it has a lovely gold thread running through it. It will be perfect as a beach cover up.

This over sized floppy hat is from New Look and I couldn't resist it as it was such a bargain buy and will pack nicely in my suitcase!  I hope I have the chance to wear this as its so glamorous!

And my wish list buys so far are this gorgeous Diane Von Furstenberg kaftan which is just ultra chic and such a classic.

This bikini from Seafolly is such a lovely shape and I am loving the colours too!

Rustic Elegant Bridal Brunch!

How utterly stunning is this Rustic Elegant Bridal Brunch that I found via Celebrations at Home. It is styled by Wednesday Custom Design and it has some very beautiful details. The vibe of this is so whimsical with those fluffy marshmallow garlands over the table and I love the soft peachy colours against the white, its so feminine. There is also a great use of textures, from the lace tablecloths to the string wrapped around the table settings to the rope on the chairs - such a stylish idea!

I also adore the use of the peaches as I'm a big fan of using fruit in table decor - its such a budget friendly solution. And of course I love the milk glass! Why is milk glass so hard to find in the UK? I need to hunt some down! If you see some please let me know... :-)

Friday Home: How to Build a Cheeseboard

For any aspiring host or hostess I found this very useful post on Glitter Guide by Victoria from vmac+cheese about how to build a perfect cheeseboard. Yes Yes I know this post is slightly random ;-) but I really did find this so interesting!

Often when we have friends round for dinner we serve a platter of charcuterie and cheese as a help yourself starter, dessert or as part of wider buffet and it always goes down well so its great to know what to serve as part of it! I especially like the addition of some sort of spread like a pesto and the small garnishes like dried fruit as this adds some colour as well!

Fun Cushions!

I stumbled across these super cute and fun cushions by The land of Nod on the always stylish Oh Joy Blog. They would be so gorgeous if you are decorating a nursery and they are really reasonably priced too.

I think The Head In the clouds pillow is my fave!

Wedding Wednesday: The Invites!

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today I thought I would share with you our wedding invites!

I loved our Save the Dates but I wanted to bring a little bit of colour into our main invitations especially as its a summer wedding. Coral is our main standout colour so after a few discussions with Carike our stationery designer at Canvas Stationery Boutique we decided on a coral, black and white theme.  The colour in the pictures look orange but in reality they are a pinky coral colour and are lovely. We kept the type font of the save the dates (which is possibly my favourite font ever!) and Carike created a Rachael and John logo.

The set contains the main invite with the logo slightly raised in black foil, an information card and an RSVP and its held together by a black belly band and we went for a black envelope lining to bring it all together. I think they look really chic!  We are so happy with them!
