Wedding Wednesday: The Cake Decisions!

We've been finalising lots of wedding decisions over the last few weeks and one of them is the cake!  We are so lucky that the best mans wife bakes the most gorgeous cakes and she has volunteered to bake ours - it makes it so special to have a good friend making it!

We've had a few meetings and exchanged pictures and the cakes I like best are the traditional round three tier ones. The tiers are to be quite deep and stacked upon each other to keep it modern. Its going to be quite plain possibly with some black and white ribbon wrapped around the tiers and maybe with some flowers.  It may also have some little spots like the third picture. We are just finalising the details however these pictures will be similar.  What do you think?

Very simple and very elegant! I love the contrast of the black ribbon against the white cake and the little dots, so sweet. xxx

I think you're putting so much care and god taste in all the steps leading to the Big Day. Is so endearing to witness. You're indeed an inspiration among so much sillyness we see for this such important day of our Life.

I love the B&W ribbon detail. And to have a friend baking it is too good for words. Another sweet story for your Lovely Book "How to Live your Big Day and Mean It" ahahahahah

What sizes are the cakes in the first picture and how many did it feed? I am making a wedding cake for 200 people and need to find a structure that works with that amount.

All these cake designs are superb. You are very lucky to have a good friend making your wedding cake. We have just tied knot at famous domestic venue houston tx and we had a super special wedding cake design by a cousin. It was very delicious too.
