Fabulous Friday Food: Cheats Strawberry Trifle

I'm always searching for the perfect make in advance dinner party dessert, especially as I've normally had a few glasses of wine by dessert and therefore its never perfect! This is a great recipe by Donna Hay. I love her website, her recipes are so yummy, so do take a look!

Ingredients
4 slices thick brioche
1 cup (150g) sliced strawberries
¼ cup (60ml) dessert wine
1 tablespoon caster (superfine) sugar
1 ½ cup (375ml) store-bought custard
1 ½ tablespoon finely grated orange rind
⅓ cup (80ml) pouring (single) cream
Finely grated orange rind, extra, to serve

Method
Use a round cookie cutter to cut 4 x 7cm-rounds from the brioche and place in the base of 4 x 1 cup-capacity (250ml) glasses. Place the strawberries, wine and sugar in a bowl and mix well to combine. Spoon the strawberry mixture over the brioche rounds. Combine custard and rind and spoon over strawberry mixture. Top with cream and sprinkle with extra rind to serve. Serves 4.

Happy Weekend all!
